Toyota�s European production to return to pre-earthquake levels in June

Toyota announced today that its European output will finally return to pre-earthquake levels by June. For those who don�t know, this month Toyota reduced the production at five of its factories found in UK, Turkey, Poland and France due to parts shortages. These plants are currently building the Avensis, Auris, Verso and Yaris models, as well as engines, according to Autonews.

Moreover, good news are coming: Toyota says that due to the European production restart but also to the increase in Japanese output, the delivery times for the cars are also expected to normalize. Toyota also announced yesterday that the brand new 2012 Toyota Prius V is still on track to make its debut in the United States. This also means that the Prius + is also on track to make its debut in Europe.

"Even though this catastrophe has had a significant impact on Japan's economy and Toyota's operations, we are strongly committed to overcome it," Didier Leroy, CEO of Toyota Europe said in a statement. "I want to thank our suppliers for working hard to resolve the supply issues caused by the earthquake and our customers for their patience and understanding," he added.
