Mercedes Benz C63 AMG

Mercedes-Benz may have wanted to keep the C63 AMG under covers for now, but photos of the high-performance model of the recently revealed 2012 C-Class facelift have already hit the web.
The pictures, which appear to be legit, show that the C63 AMG gains a restyled fascia with new headlamps, a single-bar grille and a new bumper design. There's also a single shot of the interior, which features the same basic upgrades as the rest of the C-Class range including the newly designed center console.

2012 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Roadster Officially Revealed : 68 High-Res Photos [Updated]

Little by little, Mercedes-Benz is releasing more photos and information on its 2012 SLS AMG Roadster ahead of the supercars world premiere at the forthcoming Frankfurt Motor Show in September. Following the release of a barely disguised car earlier this month, the German companys PR tease continues today with the first official photos of the roadster version of the SLS AMG without any kind of camouflage.
We also get to learn that the three-layered fabric soft top will not eat in the roadster models trunk area as its capacity remains at 6.1 cubic feet with the roof either open or closed, and is roughly the same to that of the SLS AMG Coupe, which stands at 6.2 cubic feet. The fully automatic top is available in three colors black, beige and a classic red. It opens and closes in eleven seconds, and can be operated on the move at speeds up to 31 mph or 50km/h.

Kubatechs Chipped Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG with 583-horsepower

For some people, there is no such thing as too much horsepower. The more the better, even if were talking about a compact sedan like the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG that leaves Stuttgarts factory with a 6.2-liter V8 engine cranking out 457-horsepower and 600 Nm (442 lb-ft)of peak torque.
In the case of German tuning firm Kubatech, the answer to the C63 AMGs horsepower problem was a Stage 3 performance kit that includes a new ECU from Mcchip-dkr along with a complete sports exhaust system from Cargraphic, which help bump output to 583HP and 692 Nm (510 lb-ft).

Mercedes-Benz Rumored to be Readying Monstrous G65 AMG Limited Edition with 612HP V12

The Mercedes-Benz G-Class or G-Wagen, started its life towards the end of the 1970s as a rugged off-roader featuring a body-on-frame construction and three fully locking differentials, one. And even though the base models continue the same formula today, somewhere down the line, a crazy AMG engineer had a eureka moment and threw in a powerful engine under the hood transforming the boxy 4x4 into a 3.5-tonne weapon capable of humiliating sports car in a straight line duel.
Today, the most potent G-Class model is the G55 AMG fitted with a supercharged 5.5-liter V8 engine developing 507-horses and 700Nm (516 lb-ft) of peak torque for a 0-100km/h (62mph) in just 5.5 seconds and a limited top speed of 210 km/h. But that may soon change if we are to believe a report from Dutch website Autoblog.nl on a new range topping G-Class model with the G65 AMG moniker.

Mercedes-Benz Presents SLS AMG Emergency Medical Vehicle Study

We are not quite sure what you would do with a two-door, low riding, Gullwing-door emergency medical vehicle with a boot capacity of just 176 liters, other than to reach an accident scene in a flash, but even if thats the case, we assume a motorcycle would be a better choice. Then again, the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Emergency Medical Vehicle is just a pure study and it will make its world premiere at this weeks 2011 RETTmobil in Germany. The show is the largest European trade fair for rescue and mobility and it runs from May 11 to 13.

AMG - Reportedly developing an entry level performance saloon?

Automotive websites are once again abuzz with reports of AMG developing a super sports saloon based on the future generation B-Class. According to Autocar, this new entry level AMG offering will borrow styling cues from the Mercedes Benz F800 Style Concept which was unveiled at the 2010 Geneva Auto Show. Autocar has further said in its report that this new AMG will be powered by a new engine based on the 3.5 liter turbocharged V6 mill that was actually developed for the CLS350.

The report also says that the engine will be downsized to 3.2 liters and utilize an electrically operated pressure wave supercharger. It further reveals that maximum power output will be close to 400bhp and there is a possibility of the power being delivered to all four wheels with more bias towards the rear. To the non-performance engine enthusiast, a pressure wave supercharger is one which utilizes the exhaust gases generated by an internal combustion engine to generate pressure waves which compress the intake air.

AMG is developing this entry level performance saloon to in order to increase the chances of attract more customers especially in the young age group to its brand. Once launched, this new car will face stiff competition from the likes of BMW 1 Series and Volkswagen Golf R. We will keep you posted as and when more information surfaces.

2010 Mercedes S63/S65 AMG Facelift in Depth

Not long ago, there are new details released for both the 2010 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG and S65 AMG facelifts. With a starting price of 115,700 before tax, the S63 AMG short-wheelbase brings a 525 horsepower, 6.3-liter V8 engine producing up to 630 Nm of torque. A long wheelbase model is available for an additional 6,000.

At 185,900 the S65 AMG is hardly cheap, but the 612 horsepower delivered by the 6.0-liter biturbo V12 may be enough to convince new customers. The V12 able to produce 1000 Nm of torque and able to accelerate from 0 to 100km/h at 4.4 seconds, 0.2 seconds faster than the S63. Both cars are electronically limited to 250 km/h. On the S63 the driver controls the AMGSPEEDSHIFT 7G-Tronic transmission, while the S65 utilizes a five-speed automatic.

Impressively, Mercedes did not have to degrade the performance of these two vehicles to improve fuel economy. Both "consumption and CO2 emissions" were reduced "by up to 3 percent."

For the exterior, it seems many of the 8,000 current S-Class AMG customers may get a little jealous. A new arrow-shaped radiator grille - with twin chrome louvres on the S65 - is an effective status symbol on a car that commands respect. AMG-spec LED daytime lights are mounted just above the air outlets on either side of the front apron.

At an angle, this leads nicely into the new sidesills, which blends with the new side mirros to form a defined line to the car's rear. At the back, a new rear apron has a body-color diffuser built in, replacing the black diffuser on previous models. 52 LEDs are shaped in a "double 'C'" pattern to make up the taillights. Redesigned quad exhaust pipes appear in chrome. "6.3 AMG" and "V12 Biturbo" badging is featured prominently.

The two cars separate at the wheels, where the S63 uses 19-inch multispoke wheels, while the S65 uses a 20-inch set. Both wheels are painted in Titanium grey, with glossy finishes. The bigger wheels can be purchased as an option on the S63.

A healthy amount of equipment comes standard, including the Active Body Control AMG sports suspension. ABC provides stabilizes the car when gusts of wind blast the vehicle from the side. The system adjusts "the wheel load distribution within milliseconds" and works with the Electronic Stability Program to reduce the effects of crosswinds. Torque Vectoring Brakes improve cornering by adjusting the caliper pressure on the inner rear wheel. AMG Adaptive Brakes are also included, using a double floating brake caliper at the front.

Back into the cockpit, the S-class AMG comes with a healthy amount of leather, and multifunctioning AMG sport seats which will gladly give you a massage should you need one. Both vehicles feature the AMG analogue clock, and AMG aluminum shift paddles that connect to a Direct Select gearshift. A piano black lacquer crossed with carbon fiber AMG trim is also available.
